Grilled Salmon with Mustard-Lime Sauce

Here, mustard is used two ways, in a zesty marinade and a creamy sauce with honey mustard and lime juice.

PREP TIME 15 minutes
COOK TIME 15 minutes

For the marinade:
1⁄3 cup honey mustard
2 tablespoons olive oil
¼ cup white wine vinegar
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 clove garlic, crushed
Salt and pepper to taste
4 (5-ounce) salmon fillets

For the mustard-lime sauce:
¼ cup honey mustard
1 lime, juiced
1 teaspoon olive oil
1 teaspoon chopped cilantro
plus more for garnish
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
plus more for garnish
2 tablespoons crema or sour cream

1. Make the marinade: Whisk all the ingredients except for the salmon together in a small bowl.
2. Coat the salmon with the marinade in a resealable bag and refrigerate for 1 hour.
3. Make the sauce: Whisk all the ingredients together in another small bowl. Refrigerate until ready to use.
4. Preheat the grill to medium.
5. Add the salmon and grill, about 5–6 minutes per side, or until the salmon is cooked to your desired doneness.
6. Serve topped with the Mustard-Lime Sauce, sprinkled with chopped cilantro and extra red pepper flakes.
