Smoked-Salmon Avocado Toast


While the “hair of the dog” might seem tempting, feeding your body the right foods—no, that Bloody Mary doesn’t count as food—is the best cure-all for the fun you had last night. Start your day with these morning meals that are as delicious as they are nutritious, and you can forget about that headache (and never wanting to drink again!).

Hangover Helpers: bread, avocado, chile peppers, salmon

YIELD 4 servings
PREP TIME 10 minutes
COOK TIME 5 minutes

4 large slices bread of your choice, toasted
4 ounces cream cheese
2 avocados, sliced
salt and pepper to taste
red pepper flakes to taste
4 ounces smoked salmon
capers for garnish
lemon juice for serving

1. Spread the cream cheese on the toast and top with
the avocado slices. Season with salt, pepper and red pepper flakes.
2. Top with the salmon and garnish with capers and a squeeze of lemon. Serve immediately.
